I am so thankful I am not a boy. Really. Today I dropped $40 just for a meal for three people. Mind you, I did have to pay for my brother, and I didn't want my friend to pay, so I paid for her. Thank goodness my paycheck will be coming soon. Need to ease off on the spending. Can you imagine if, as a guy, I am FORCED to pay for my girlfriend since I'm the guy and I'm supposed to? Hell No. Pay for your own stuff. Then again, I had no choice but to pay for him. Then again, he's an idiot for wanting to come along, and then not having money and asking people to pay for you. I suppose I'm just upset since he's a pretentious brat, and well he doesn't wanna look for work. As for now, got no choice but to man up.

Needless to say, I like work. I mean, there are days when I seriously just don't want to be there (although it's been like 2 weeks haha) but seriously, it's all good fun. The people are so sweet, and the other counter girl is awesome. She teaches me the ins and outs of the place, and it's a good time killer too. I feel bad sometimes since it cuts into my free time and my opportunities to study and hang out, but I don't mind, really. There's a lot of down time at the office, and sometimes I get to study, which is great. The pay is good, and for the first time, I got to turn in a time card!!! Yay for getting paid on the 15th. It's good that I'm finally going to be making my own money, and I don't have to rely on others for money any more. I can't wait.
School's great too. Although, honestly, I haven't been focusing as much as I should have, or should be. I really just sometimes get really tired after work and I just crash, and it's really early too, like at 9 pm, so I don't really get a lot of time to sit and study and focus. Rather, it's shower, eat, relax, and fall asleep while relaxing, like last night when I watched Whose Line, and then ended up falling asleep on the couch and waking up in the middle of the night, and dragging myself to bed, as my back was pretty sore from falling asleep on the couch.
The WGA Strike is over too. Thank goodness. Hopefully the writers were able to get the money they demanded from the executives, but I'm very happy that there won't be anymore of the crappy reality tv shows anymore. Well, less of it anyway. House will be back, Grey's Anatomy, and the Daily Show is back to being scripted. Jon Stewart did a good job without a script though!
I wish I was into college basketball. It looks so exciting. I just get wayyy too confused about the divisions, the universities, who plays who, why are there so many #1's, and March Madness. Since I attend a university, I pretend I know what's going on. But, thankfully, I understand the NBA- and let me just say, I <3 Pau. Not like OMG hottest person alive sort of thing. No wayyy. But rather, I think he's done wonderful for the team, and seems like a genuinely nice guy. Wednesday's game with Phoenix was INTENSE. I was nervous throughout. Thank goodness we won. Or else.
YAY my car is revived. I loved my brother's car, it was much smaller, but I am very happy to get my car back, so I don't have to worry anymore about expenses, and hindering my brother from driving to school.
So that's about it. Pretty much all I'm into right now- I'm going to start studying. And maybe watch some ball too. haha

GAHHH. I know it's just the beginning of the week, but honestly, I am so ready for it to be the weekend already... because:
Aimz in town means one thing- more hanging out with Dar. I hope I get to see his new dog. cuute.
Finally my AMC Movie Watcher card came in the mail. Yay for points. NBA All-Star Weekend. Well, not that I'm COMPLETELY excited about that, it gives me something to do. Honestly, I know this is bad, but no work. YAY. Work's not bad, it's just that I'm still in the beginning- I will adjust.
My cousin is giving me Pokemon. Sweeet.
Oh, Becoming Jane is out on DVD tomorrow. Can't help that both James McAvoy and Anne Hathaway are in it. Very interested to hear her British accent. Splurging on DVDs that are on sale for Valentine's Day. Yess. More romantic comedies and the like. And actually, I hope I can actually get SOMETHING done this weekend. But, looking at the above things... Yeah. Right.

Time

I find myself in the Horn Center, waiting for class to start, and just loitering here in the computer lab, checking my mail, going on facebook, reading sports articles, articles on the election, etc. Wow. Hard to believe that I've essentially been sitting here, wasting time, while I could be doing something worthwhile, like study. Then again, I may not have to study. Here's the thing. I hear there's a new section opening for a class and I want it. Now, taking the class means I will have to drop two classes- economics and psychology. Not exactly classes I find entirely important. I mean, they are important for grad school, but not so much for the right now. Plus, I may be getting a job. Key word: maybe. I am still figuring out scheduling, and it's not so easy, plus I may not be the right person for it. I am seriously hoping this pans out. I just need to hear from my teacher, and I may have a decent shot at this. Time will tell.

winning championships

As some people know, on Friday night,a trade rocked the Western Conference of the NBA. Pau Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies was traded to the LA Lakers. To most people, and when I mean most people, I mean sane people, it was a steal. To think, the Lakers got Pau for Kwame Brown (always loses the ball), and Javaris Crittenton (a rookie with good potential, but some sacrifices have to be made), along with 2 first round draft picks. WHAT?! Yes. Yes. Now, I hear a lot of sports analysts out there saying that the country should prepare itself for the '80s reinvented- that is, a Boston-Lakers matchup. Now, now, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Today, the Lakers majorly kicked the Washington Wizards' butts on their home floor, but Pau didn't suit up, but he did shoot in the shoot around, as he didn't have a jersey, nor did he have time to practice with the team. Pau has yet to play a full game, but look at the starting lineup of the Lakers once Andrew Bynum gets healthy:
PG- Derek Fisher
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Lamar Odom
PF- Pau Gasol
C- Andrew Bynum
Holy crap. I don't know, but I know the rest of the Western Conference is probably worried. As a Los Angeles local, I am very much looking forward to the Laker game on Tuesday, as Pau will most likely play. Let's see how it goes. Is a championship on the horizon? Not necessarily for this year, but the future looks really bright.
On another note, congrats to the New England Patriots on their Perfect Season! w00t NEW YORK GIANTS!!!! Congrats on kicking the Patriots' butts. Amazing. I can't believe it. I hate the Patriots, for acting so arrogant, and I can't get over their cheating allegation. And frankly, I'm tired of them. Ok. No more hate. In any case, I thought there would be some crazy party I would be at, but honestly, I enjoyed myself a lot better with just my family eating pizza and drinking soda, and it helped that we all cheered for the same team. Duude. Fourth quarter. Normally, the Super Bowl is like a major blowout, but not this one! I really was so panicky in the fourth quarter, and I was freaking out that the Patriots were gonna win. I seriously felt my heart racing. Geez. I don't think I've ever been this worked up over the football game. Oh man.
